Review of "The Girl Who Could Fly" By Victoria Forester

The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester

Description:
"I'm as light as a cloud, as free as a bird. I'm part of the sky and I can fly." Piper McCloud, a homeschooled 9 year old girl, resides in Lowland County where she lives with her "ma", Betty, and "pa", Joe, on 20 acres of farming land. She does not understand why she can't go to a "normal" school like her neighbors, but there is a good reason: Piper can fly. She had beenable to float in the a air as a young child, and her parents were worried that children at school would be frightened by her. But one summer day at a Fourth of July picnic, during a baseball game, Piper amazes (and scares!) the folk of Lowland County by flying while trying to catch a ball high in the air. Onc news is heard of a "girl who could fly", a woman named Letitia Hellion suggests to come to her institute for extraordinary children with amazing abilities. Through this "edge of your seat" novel, you'll love the adventure, mystery, and exhilarating circumstances and stories!

Spiritual content: Piper and her parents attend church. Her mom references to the Good Lord, the Good Book and Lord several times throughout the book.

Positive content: This may be considered good vs. evil as the children with amazing talents fight to keep animals and humans with special talents from not being forced to become normal. The children also want to do good with their talents, such as investigating crimes with the talent of X-Ray eyes , or healing animals with the talent of healing powers.

Negative content:
Language: A few dangs, hecks and the d**n word used twice.

Negativity in story: There is a women (Millie Mae Miller) who gossips to the other ladies on just about everything.
