Review of "Living Victoriously In Christ" by Cindy Cross and Lisa Vanderbilt

Hello!
Sorry it has been almost 2 weeks since my last post! All of my files from my laptop were deleted so I am using a different computer. Please pray that we will be able to get back one of my movies that I have been working on since last summer!
This weekend I will be attending the Arizona homeschool convention. Be sure to check out my post with pictures from that soon to follow!
I updated my blog a bit. I hope you are enjoying my new summer theme!

Onto my review:

Living Victoriously In Christ (A 30-Day Devotional)
By Cindy Cross and Lisa Vanderbilt
166 pages
Devotional is formatted as follows:
V  Devotion (based on a certain topic)
V 4-5 Questions to ponder (based on what she talked about in the devotion
V  God's word to you (Bible verse)
V  Daily prayer

Spiritual content: This book is a devotional. It covers topics like: Hope in your suffering, God's love, taking care of what is given to you, putting God in a box, praying and much more. I very much enjoyed the devotions. The devotions are told in first person by either Cindy or Lisa (it switches almost every devotion.) They used references to Christian contemporary songs, such as "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath and "Lift Up Your Face" by Third Day. They also referenced to TV shows. But most of all, to Bible verses!
Click on each of the verses to read the verse.
John 1:12, Isaiah 41:10, Romans 5:3-4, Ephesians 5:1-2, Psalm 119:37, 1 John 4:19, John 15:7 (there are hundreds more too, but that gives you a taste of the types of the Bible verses they put in the first 5 days alone.)

Positive content: I loved all the devotions, and how they were focused on Scripture.

Negative content:
     Language- None available

Negativity in book- I didn't like how some of the questions to ponder where questions she had already asked in the devotion, as it could get repetitive.

Characters:

  • Many people from the Bible are mentioned, their stories, and how they relate to us.

I rate this book with 4 of 5 stars. I loved it, but it got repetitive, which is why I didn’t rate it 5 of 5 stars!

See you soon for another review!
